Job Description
The Maintenance Supervisor is responsible for overseeing and coordinating the day-to-day maintenance activities of the organization. This role ensures that facilities, equipment, and systems are well-maintained, safe, and fully operational. The supervisor will lead a team of technicians and maintenance staff, assign tasks, and ensure compliance with safety and quality standards.
Key Responsibilities
- Supervise, plan, and coordinate daily maintenance operations across facilities and equipment.
- Assign tasks and monitor the performance of maintenance staff, providing guidance and training as required.
- Inspect buildings, systems, and equipment to identify issues and schedule timely repairs.
- Develop and oversee preventive maintenance schedules to minimize downtime.
- Ensure compliance with health, safety, and environmental regulations.
- Maintain accurate records of maintenance activities, inventory, and repair histories.
- Liaise with contractors, vendors, and external service providers when specialized repairs are required.
- Monitor and control maintenance budgets, tools, and spare parts inventory.
- Respond promptly to emergency maintenance requests to minimize operational disruptions.
- Prepare reports on maintenance performance, completed work, and improvement recommendations.
Experience
- Proven experience as a Maintenance Supervisor, Team Leader, or similar role.
- Strong knowledge of building systems (electrical, plumbing, HVAC, mechanical, etc.).
- Excellent leadership and team management skills.
- Ability to prioritize and multitask in a fast-paced environment.
- Strong problem-solving and troubleshooting abilities.
- Good communication and organizational skills.
- Proficiency in using maintenance management systems (CMMS) is an advantage.
- Diploma/Degree in Engineering, Facility Management, or a related field (preferred).
- Minimum of 4–6 years of maintenance experience, with at least 2 years in a supervisory role.
