Job Description
We are seeking a skilled and passionate Korean Cook to join our culinary team. This role is ideal for someone with experience in authentic Korean cuisine and a commitment to delivering high-quality dishes. The Korean Cook will prepare a range of traditional Korean dishes, maintain high standards in food safety and sanitation, and contribute to an excellent dining experience for our guests.
Key Responsibilities
- Prepare, cook, and present traditional Korean dishes, including popular items such as kimchi, bulgogi, bibimbap, Korean BBQ, and other authentic dishes.
- Follow recipes and cooking techniques to ensure the consistency and quality of each dish.
- Manage ingredients, monitor stock levels, and place orders as necessary to maintain a well-stocked and organized kitchen.
- Ensure proper handling, storage, and labeling of all food products, maintaining high food safety and hygiene standards.
- Collaborate with the kitchen team to coordinate timing and efficient production for meal service.
- Assist in menu planning, provide creative input on seasonal and special dishes, and keep updated on Korean culinary trends.
- Maintain a clean and organized workstation, ensuring all kitchen equipment is well-maintained.
- Train and guide junior kitchen staff, as required, to ensure smooth kitchen operations and quality standards.
- Adhere to all health, safety, and sanitation guidelines to ensure compliance with local and company regulations.
Qualifications
- Proven experience as a Korean Cook or in a similar role, ideally within a Korean or Asian restaurant.
- Extensive knowledge of Korean cuisine, including preparation techniques, ingredients, and cultural traditions.
- Culinary diploma or equivalent preferred but not required if experience is extensive.
- Strong organizational skills with the ability to work under pressure in a fast-paced environment.
- Ability to follow instructions accurately, along with a keen eye for detail and presentation.
- Excellent teamwork and communication skills.
- Knowledge of kitchen safety and sanitation standards.
