Job Summary
We are seeking a dedicated and skilled Koran Cook Assistant to support our chefs in preparing authentic and high-quality Korean dishes. The ideal candidate will have a passion for Korean cuisine, a willingness to learn, and the ability to work in a fast-paced kitchen environment. You will assist in the preparation, cooking, and presentation of a variety of traditional and modern Korean dishes, ensuring that all meals are prepared to the highest standards.
Key Responsibilities
- Assist the head chef in the preparation of Korean dishes such as bulgogi, bibimbap, kimchi, Korean BBQ, and other traditional meals.
- Prepare ingredients, including cutting, chopping, marinating, and seasoning, as directed by the chef.
- Ensure cleanliness and organization of the kitchen, including cleaning workstations and equipment.
- Follow proper food safety and hygiene standards to maintain a clean and safe working environment.
- Monitor stock levels of ingredients and report shortages to the kitchen manager.
- Assist in plating and presentation of dishes according to restaurant standards.
- Learn and develop skills in preparing authentic Korean side dishes (banchan) and sauces.
- Help manage inventory and receive kitchen deliveries.
- Collaborate with other kitchen staff to ensure timely and efficient meal preparation.
- Perform other duties as assigned by the head chef or kitchen manager.
Qualifications
- Must Have previous experience in a kitchen environment, preferably with Korean cuisine
- Strong interest in Korean food and a desire to learn traditional cooking techniques.
- Ability to follow recipes and instructions carefully.
- Good knife skills and basic knowledge of kitchen equipment.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced and high-pressure environment.
- Team player with excellent communication skills.
- Basic understanding of food safety and hygiene standards.
- Willingness to work flexible hours, including evenings, weekends, and holidays.
Physical Requirements
- Ability to stand for long periods of time.
- Ability to lift and carry up to 25 pounds.
- Manual dexterity to handle kitchen tools and utensils.
