Job Summary

The Golf Course General Manager is responsible for overseeing all aspects of the golf club’s operations, ensuring a top-notch experience for members and guests. This role involves managing golf course maintenance, hospitality services, and events while driving business growth and profitability. The General Manager will lead the golf club’s staff, maintain high standards of service, and ensure compliance with local regulations.

Key Responsibilities

  • Club Operations Management: Oversee day-to-day operations of the golf course, including the clubhouse, pro shop, food and beverage services, and maintenance of the course.
  • Financial Management: Develop and manage budgets, financial reports, and business plans to maximize revenue and control expenses. Monitor financial performance and implement strategies to achieve financial goals.
  • Customer Experience: Ensure a high level of service quality, addressing customer inquiries, feedback, and complaints promptly. Strive to enhance the member and guest experience through continuous service improvements.
  • Staff Leadership: Recruit, train, and manage the golf course staff, including groundskeepers, pro shop personnel, food and beverage staff, and event coordinators. Set performance standards and manage staffing schedules.
  • Event and Tournament Management: Coordinate with event organizers to plan and execute golf tournaments, corporate events, and other special occasions. Ensure the golf course is well-prepared for events.
  • Membership Sales and Marketing: Develop and implement marketing strategies to promote membership sales, increase foot traffic, and drive revenue from green fees, events, and other services.
  • Facility Maintenance: Ensure that all facilities, including the golf course, clubhouse, and equipment, are properly maintained. Oversee any repairs, renovations, or capital improvement projects.
  • Compliance and Safety: Ensure compliance with local regulations, health and safety standards, and environmental guidelines. Conduct regular safety inspections and staff training.
  • Vendor and Supplier Management: Establish and maintain relationships with vendors and suppliers for purchasing supplies, equipment, and services.
  • Strategic Planning: Develop long-term strategies to enhance the club’s services, grow the business, and improve the overall experience for members and guests.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Hospitality Management, Sports Management, or a related field (preferred).
  • 5+ years of experience in golf club management, hospitality management, or a similar role, with a proven track record of success.
  • Strong financial acumen with experience in budgeting, financial analysis, and revenue management.
  • Knowledge of golf course operations, tournament organization, and membership management.
  • Leadership and team management skills, with experience in staff training and development.
  • Marketing and sales skills to promote membership and increase revenue.
  • Familiarity with UAE regulations related to hospitality, health and safety, and employment.
