This prestigious event was attended by esteemed delegates from the Embassy of the Republic of Korea in the UAE, alongside officials from the Ministry of Agriculture, Food & Rural Affairs (MAFRA), Korea Agro-Fisheries & Food Trade Corporation, and NongHyup Agribusiness Group, who all played key roles in bringing Halal Hanwoo to the international market.
Presented by Korean celebrity Chef Choi Hyun-seok, widely known for his charismatic culinary style and appearances on Korean TV, the evening offered an exclusive look into the rarity and richness of Hanwoo beef. Hanwoo is revered in South Korea as a national treasure, with over 5,000 years of history behind its name. The breed is known for its fine marbling, balanced beefy flavor, and delicate sweet aftertaste—a unique combination that positions it between the intense richness of Wagyu and the classic boldness of Prime Beef.
The event featured a bespoke six-course Hanwoo tasting menu crafted by Chef Choi and Nuri’s culinary team, providing an elevated dining experience in the restaurant’s elegant setting at Yas Bay Waterfront, Abu Dhabi. From tenderloin tartare to slow-grilled Hanwoo sirloin, each dish was designed to showcase the unmatched quality and flavor profile of this ultra-premium beef.
Described by one guest from the Korean Embassy as a “very special and culturally significant” moment, this event signalled a new chapter for Korean cuisine in the UAE and further cemented Nuri Grill & Bar’s reputation as a leading Korean fine dining destination.
