Job Description

The Korean Chef is responsible for preparing and presenting authentic Korean cuisine, maintaining the highest standards of food quality and safety. This role involves creating traditional and innovative Korean dishes, managing kitchen operations, and collaborating with the kitchen team to deliver an exceptional dining experience for guests.

Key Responsibilities

  • Food Preparation :
    • Prepare and cook a variety of Korean dishes, including but not limited to BBQ, bibimbap, kimchi, and soups. 
    • Ensure all ingredients are fresh, properly stored, and available for use. 
    • Maintain consistency in taste, portioning, and presentation of all dishes. 
  • Menu Development:
    • Develop and refine menu items, incorporating traditional Korean recipes and modern culinary trends. 
    • Stay updated on current food trends and incorporate new ideas into the menu. 
  • Quality Control: 
    • Monitor food quality and freshness throughout preparation and service. 
    • Ensure that all dishes leaving the kitchen meet the highest standards of quality and presentation. 
  • Kitchen Operations: 
    • Maintain a clean and organized work area, adhering to food safety and sanitation guidelines. 
    • Assist with inventory management, including ordering and rotating stock to minimize waste. 
    • Collaborate with other kitchen staff to ensure timely and efficient service. 
  • Customer Service: 
    • Interact with guests when necessary to gather feedback and address any concerns. 
    • Ensure a positive dining experience by consistently delivering high-quality dishes. 

Qualifications

  • Culinary degree or equivalent certification preferred. 
  • Proven experience as a Korean chef or in a similar role in a professional kitchen. 
  • In-depth knowledge of traditional and modern Korean cuisine. 
  • Strong knife skills and familiarity with kitchen equipment. 
  • Creativity and an eye for detail in food presentation. 
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and handle multiple tasks simultaneously. 
  • Good communication and teamwork skills. 
  • Knowledge of food safety and sanitation standards.
